(Doubleday, 1973), and specialized in liberation theology and religious humanism. He remained at FSU for the rest of his life. Jones became Professor of Religion and the Director of Afro-American Studies program in the College of Social Sciences at Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee. Jones was an assistant professor of philosophy of religion at Yale Divinity School from 1969 to 1977.
